Broncho Up.

The University of Central Oklahoma is continuing the hard work of last year’s student organization. The year saw a visit by Renee Yohe and the literal writing of love on our arms.

This is my first semester as the staff advisor for the group. I’ll write a post about why I’m doing this—why I said yes to the humbling question of “Wanna be our leader? I mean, advisor?” :) But this isn’t about me, it’s about other people and the fact that they need help as much as I do. Who needs it more is irrelevant, and we don’t do things such as compare sufferings.

What we do is show up.

Tomorrow we have a Student Involvement Fair in which we’ll cover the table with many of my own shirts, creative posters from last year, and a few extra stickers. The students who have worked hard to keep this group going will be there to talk, to answer what they can, and to accept more people into this growing community.

Selfishly, I need love written on my arms, so tonight, I’ll sleep knowing that hope waits for no one and will tangibly show itself to me tomorrow.

Big ups,

Stephanie Scott
